The Role of Chef de Cuisine

  • Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will lead and develop the WSCC Kitchen Team, and support the smooth operation of our hotel kitchen.
  • Foster a guest-centric, innovative and high-performing team culture where excellence in service is a shared passion.
  • Success in this role will be underpinned by driving creativity, consistency, food safety compliance and operational excellence across all culinary offerings.
  • Oversee kitchen production and administrative functions to ensure the department operates as a successful profit centre, achieving financial and operational targets.
  • Lead the execution of culinary events and food concepts in line with approved concept statements.
  • Maintain exceptional quality, presentation and hygiene standards across all food production.
  • Support workforce planning, performance management and ongoing team development.

About You

  • Proven ability to lead and manage a large, diverse kitchen team, operating in a high-volume, fast paced environment
  • Menu Engineering, Creativity, Financial Acumen, Culinary Knowledge and Food Safety Compliance experience are essential
  • Experience leading a team with a strong focus on engagement and development
  • A positive, professional attitude with strong personal qualities, excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills and natural leadership ability
  • 3-5 years' experience in a Chef de Cuisine role or similar senior kitchen position
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards, HACCP principles and compliance requirements
  • Recognised chef qualifications, with a relevant culinary certification is essential
