1st Year Apprentice Greenkeeper
Full Time

 

Panthers Rugby League are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate 1st year Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our busy Outergrounds team.

 

We have an exciting opportunity available for a dedicated and hardworking individual with strong communication skills and a positive can do attitude to join our friendly Rugby League team as an Apprentice Greenkeeper. With on the job training provided, you will work at the Panthers Rugby League Academy in the Outergrounds team assisting your fellow dedicated team members in field maintenance, landscaping and general grounds maintenance and will partake in a variety of activities within the grounds area.

 

Enjoying various tasks, your main duties will include, however are not limited to:

  • Obtain formal qualifications while you work
  • Prepare and maintain all turf surfaces, landscaped areas and garden beds areas as required;
  • General mowing and maintenance of the Rugby League Academy training fields and club grounds;
  • Operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment, tools and plants to ensure they remain in a serviceable and safe condition;
  • Apply pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals in accordance with safe operating procedures;
  • Keep work areas and amenities clean at all times;
  • Ensure compliance with all Workplace Health and Safety and WorkCover requirements and;
  • Undertake any other general maintenance and Outergrounds duties as directed and required.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • A strong work ethic and works well in a team environment;
  • Be reliable and have a positive attitude;
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently;
  • Highly motivated individual that takes pride in their work;
  • Possess strong attention to detail;
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions;
  • Desirable, Current Driver’s Manual Licence though not essential for the right candidate;
  • A good level of physical fitness as the role contains continuous lifting, bending and moving and;
  • Interest or knowledge in greenkeeping will be an advantage;
  • Must be able to attend TAFE and courses as required for apprenticeship.

 

You will have the ability to work under pressure, display a passion for the outdoors and take satisfaction in a job well done in contributing to ensuring the Rugby League grounds are well presented and safe at all times. Punctuality, reliability and flexibility is essential as you will need to be available Monday to Friday but possible weekends in season.
