Panthers North Richmond has a rare and exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Commis Chef or Cook who is looking to step up and join their busy and friendly kitchen team.
Panthers North Richmond are looking for an experienced, vibrant and passion Commis Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team who prides themselves on presenting quality food to our customers and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Reporting to the Head Chef and General Manager you will ensure a high-quality service and food every time to our members and guests. You will have the ability to work efficiently and pro-actively and have the managerial expertise to step up during the absence of the Head Chef to effectively lead the team.
. Key Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Effective day-to-day operations of the kitchen;
Managing a small team of Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Stewards;
Encompassing a friendly and supportive team environment;
Catering and planning for functions;
Food preparation, presentation and service;
Cooking a variety of dishes including grill & fryer work;
Stock management duties including stock takes and recording wastage;
Menu planning and ordering stock;
Creating daily specials for blackboards;
Managing food health and safety;
Overseeing food produced and presented within the kitchen and;
Implementing and enforcing food health and safety legislation.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
At least 2 years’ experience in a busy kitchen in a Senior Chef role;
Relevant trade qualifications including Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery and/or Food Safety Supervisor Certificate;
High customer service skills and have a strong commitment to your trade, customers and team;
High attention to detail and have the ability to work under pressure;
Fantastic communication skills;
Intermediate computer skills and;
Ability to cope with stressful situations and strong problem solving skills
