Audio Technician – Evan Theatre

Panthers Group is seeking an experienced and passionate Audio Technician to join our Operations team at the iconic Evan Theatre. This role is responsible for supporting all audio and visual operations across live entertainment events while helping maintain the venue’s audio and lighting infrastructure.

Working closely with the Audio Visual Manager, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional live production experiences for performers, patrons and touring productions.

About the Role

As an Audio Technician, you will:

• Operate and support audio systems for live performances and events
• Patch, program and operate Yamaha CL5 and QL5 audio consoles
• Manage FOH and monitor mixes as required
• Tune foldback systems to meet performer requirements
• Integrate touring production systems with in-house infrastructure
• Support playback of cued audio files and background music
• Assist with preventative maintenance of theatre audio and lighting systems
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with WHS procedures
• Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with the Panthers Experience values

Essential Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience mixing sound for live performances and events
• Strong working knowledge of Yamaha CL5 and QL5 audio consoles
• Ability to read and interpret stage plots and technical documentation
• Experience operating FOH and monitor sound systems
• Understanding of Dante Virtual Soundcard and Dante Controller systems
• Ability to integrate touring audio systems with in-house production infrastructure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Commitment to Workplace Health & Safety practices and procedures
• A positive, professional attitude with a strong customer service focus
