Accounts Payable Officer

The Opportunity
As part of our Finance team, you’ll play an important role in delivering accurate and efficient Accounts Payable services, suppoprt to the finance team and perform baking duties across the business. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage  accounts payable, general ledger & reconciliation and other administrative processes while working closely with internal teams and external suppliers.

 

As the Accounts Payable Officer, you duties will include:

  • Invoice Processing; receive, verify and ensure supplier invoices are accurately recorded into the accounting system.
  • Match invoices against purchase orders.
  • Payment runs; prepare and execute creditor payments via EFT, Bpay, or OTT.
  • Ensuring all invoice documents, and payments are correctly authorised.
  • Maintaining creditor master files.
  • Vendor Relations; act as a contact for vendor inquiries, managing statements and resolving ledger issues.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met for end of month.
  • Sorting, scanning, filing and document control.

      General Ledger & Reconciliation Duties:

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Reconciliation and processing of the corporate credit card
  • General ledger reconciliations
  • Month end close; assist the accounting team as required with journal entries, expense accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.

     Other Duties:

  • Collect sort and distribute mail.
  • Maintain various registers such as Motor vehicle register, authorised signatory register
  • Maintain and update archive registers and records located both on and offsite.
  • Generate and supply financial statements and reports as requested or required.
  • Back up of receivables as required.
  • Support the wider finance team as required.
  • Adhoc duties as required.

What you'll bring: 

  • 3+ years previous relevant experience in an accounts payable role,
  • High Attention to detail, this is a hands role
  • The ability to multi- task and prioritise whilst building positive internal and external relationships;
  • Strong negotiation and problem solving skills;
  • Intermediate computer skills and thorough administration practices;
  • Microsoft Business Central & Continia - preferred
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook - Intermediate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Ability to work automatously and in a small team
